InfoSeek Goes Go!

Infoseek is now the Go Network and has a configurable "preferences" front page, much the way Excite does.

They claim to have enhanced their search capabilities, with a 50% larger search index and search results pages that are 30% faster than before.

Links to your site from other sites will boost your relevancy on the Go Network.

The key to a high ranking here is to make it into their human-edited directory. The way to do this is to have a site with good content. Remember, this is a human being looking at it, not a bot.

Go to the appropriate category, much the way you would in ODP or Yahoo, and submit there. That can be difficult, as their directory gets a bit obfiscated at times. Just as you would with ODP, you can search on your keywords and see where other sites like yours are listed.

Then email url_review@infoseek.com with the following information:

  • The category you wish to submit to
  • The URL of your site
  • The title
  • Description
